Visual Information Literacy: Teaching Strategies, Learning Routines

Debbie Abilock, NoodleTools, Inc., and Tasha Bergson-Michelson, Google, Inc., are speaking this week at the HETL (International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association) conference on “Visual Information Literacy: Teaching Strategies, Learning Routines.” While new technologies have transformed how we teach students to find, evaluate and use images, visual search and evaluation, in particular, have suffered from formulaic teaching approaches. Tasha and Debbie will model fresh ways to teach the ACRL Visual Literacy Competency Standards using search and evaluation strategies.
