Position
We are looking for a talented PHP/MySQL Web applications developer in the San Francisco Bay area. This person would initially be hired on a contract basis, working directly with the company founders to design and implement key new features in our citation-management and note-taking software. As a family-run company, we appreciate home/work balance; the ideal candidate would value the flexibility and have the motivation and self-direction to succeed in a work-at-home position.
Skills
The candidate must demonstrate the skill and ability to:
- Brainstorm and contribute ideas as we design new features
- Define and achieve ambitious but realistic goals
- Work efficiently as an individual and productively in a small group
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience developing database-driven Web applications
- Experience developing Web sites with PHP
- Knowledge of DBMS, specifically MySQL 4.0+ (writing queries, optimization, etc.)
- Proficiency with HTML/JavaScript/CSS
- Familiarity with AJAX and DHTML
- Experience administering Linux & Apache is a plus
- Visual creativity and an eye for design is a plus
